DiMarzio Jake Bowen signature Titan humbuckers YouTube demo
I received a set of the new DiMarzio Jake Bowen (Periphery) signature Titan Humbuckers a few weeks back. I was finally able to install them last week, and last night I had a moment to shoot a quick demo of the bridge and neck models.
The Titans are installed in a custom Ibanez style guitar with an alder body, maple neck/rosewood fretboard, and Gotoh licensed Floyd Rose bridge with an FU-Tone brass block. Guitar is tuned to dropped D.
The bridge demo is played through a Blackstar HT-5 head on the dirty channel, and the neck demo is on the clean channel with an MXR Micro Chorus in front of the amp and a TC Electronic Flashback X 4 delay set to analogue mode in the loop.
The playing is a little rough, I’ve not had a chance to play guitar for a few weeks before I installed these. I’m not quite tuned down to the level that Periphery stuff is played, but I hope it gives an idea of what these pickups are capable of.
I didn’t get a chance to record a demo, but this guitar is set up with a three way switch, splitting both the humbuckers in the middle position. This provides some amazing clean tones, and really spanky dirty tones that I think many players will love.
I’ll have a full review written up soon, so keep an eye on this blog. 🙂
